Intermediate Care Facility for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities
Community residential homes provide four to six people per home group-style living. An ICF/ID home is for people who have intense medical needs that can be met in a comfortable home setting, rather than in a Nursing Home or other Long Term Care Facility.
RCM of Washington currently operates seven ICF/ID homes in the Washington DC Metro Area. Each home is designed to meet the needs of the people being supported, some include twenty four hour nursing.
To qualify for this service, you must be eligible for DC Medicaid and be receiving – or eligible to receive – services from the Department on Disability Services (DDS) in the District of Columbia.
Juanita lives in a beautiful home in Southeast DC and enjoys participating in adapted, home-based yoga. She is an active member of her community and meets new friends everywhere she goes.
